The most convincing argument that I’ve heard for the blockchain and NFTs in particular is that we’re starting to develop new web protocols that will power whatever comes of web3. I have no idea what the value of a cryptopunk will be in 1 year or 10 years, but the opportunity to fund the next generation of HTTPS, TCP/IP and SMTP is too good to pass up.
